Robinson’s seventh-inning homer good enough for 2-1 win

By Rich Dubroff, CSNwashington.com

In their last two games, the Nationals were held to two runs in losses at Atlanta. They equaled that total with one swing by Clint Robinson in the seventh, and it was good enough for a win.

The Nationals started the holiday weekend series with the San Francisco Giants with a 2-1 win at Nationals Park before a sellout crowd of 41,693 on Friday night.

It was the first meeting between the teams since last October’s NL Divisional Series.

Jake Peavy, making his first start since Apr. 17, pitched six excellent innings against the Nationals , allowing two hits in the first innings, and nothing else.
