The Washington Nationals have added Adam Lind to their already deep lineup, agreeing to terms with the veteran first baseman on a one-year contract, according to multiple reports.
The deal is pending a physical, according to reports. Lind, who played last season with the Seattle Mariners, would provide depth at first base and in the outfield for the reigning NL East champion Nationals.
Lind, 33, has belted at least 20 home runs in six of the last eight seasons. He had 20 homers and 58 RBIs last season with Seattle.
Lind primarily has played first base or designated hitter over the last six seasons, but he also has some outfield experience from earlier in his career.
