Alvarado, 16, joins outfielder Juan Soto ($1.5 million) and infielder Luis Aquino ($200,000) as international free agents the Nationals have agreed to terms with since the July 2 signing period opened.
Each team is allotted a $700,000 base and a bonus pool based on the team's record in 2014, and there are penalties in place for teams exceeding their spending limits. The Nationals' allotment was $2,313,100; they have spent $2.
