TORONTO -- Matt Adams left in the third inning of the Nationals' game against the Blue Jays on Friday at Rogers Centre after a pitch hit his left index finger on a foul bunt attempt an inning earlier.
Adams finished off the at-bat after getting hit by right-hander Aaron Sanchez's 95-mph fastball, eventually striking out, but he was in obvious discomfort. He played first base during the bottom of the second inning, but appeared to be favoring his hand while receiving a pair of throws on groundouts.
By the bottom of the third, Mark Reynolds took his place at first base.
