BALTIMORE — It took nearly nine years but Gio Gonzalez finally was credited with another victory at Camden Yards.
In the seventh career start in Baltimore, the Washington left-hander did not allow a run in 7 2/3 innings as the Nationals defeated the Orioles 6-0 Monday in a special Memorial Day matinee contest.
It was Washington staff’s fourth shutout of the season.
With a lot of red-clad Nationals fans at the game, Gonzalez got a loud ovation when he was removed with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning with a 6-0 lead.
