Washington Nationals catcher Kurt Suzuki left in the sixth inning of Game 3 of the World Series, apparently injured.
Manager Dave Martinez and head athletic trainer Paul Lessard came out to check on Suzuki after he attempted to field a pitch in the dirt, and the ball bounced up and hit him in an unprotected area of either his arm or his side.
Suzuki remained in the game for the rest of the half-inning, but when he was due up to bat in the bottom of the inning, Gerardo Parra pinch-hit in his place.
