Max to make 2nd straight, 3rd career ASG start

For the second year in a row, it will be Max Scherzer taking the ball for the National League in the All-Star Game. Better yet, he'll be making this start in front of his home crowd.

NL manager Dave Roberts announced Monday that Scherzer will start for the Senior Circuit in the 89th All-Star Game presented by Mastercard. The game is set for Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. ET, and it will be broadcasted live on FOX from Nationals Park in Washington D.C. This will be Scherzer's third overall All-Star Game start, following his outing last summer in Miami and his 2013 start for the American League at Citi Field as a member of the Tigers.
