Kurt Suzuki dons MAGA hat as Trump, Nationals celebrate at White House

President Trump, congratulating the Washington Nationals for winning the World Series during their visit to the White House on Monday, said America “fell in love” with the Nationals, noting that’s all people wanted to talk about.

“That and impeachment,” the president quipped.

Twenty-four members of the Nationals attended, 18 of whom were on the team’s World Series roster. Third baseman Anthony Rendon and closer Sean Doolittle were among the notables not attending.

Trump introduced various members of the Nationals over a 20-minute speech. Those players, including Max Scherzer and Stephen Strasburg, gave short remarks to the crowd.
