Chris Sale is going to the Boston Red Sox for infielder Yoan Moncada, pitcher Michael Kopech and two other prospects, according to Fox Sports’ Ken Rosenthal.
That means Sale will not be coming to the Washington Nationals, who were believed to be the front-runner for his services until Boston hopped in front with a deal that included Moncada, who many label the top prospect in baseball.
The Nationals had multiple prospects to offer the White Sox, including Lucas Giolito and Victor Robles. But, the White Sox opted for a package from Boston that included Moncada and Kopech, a 20 year old who has not pitched above Single A.
