Washington Nationals Homestand Highlights: Sunday, May 15

Youth Baseball and Softball Day: The Nationals will welcome DC area youth baseball and softball teams for a fun-filled day at the ballpark. Participants are encouraged to show their pride by wearing their team jerseys, as they will be invited down to the field for a special parade in their honor prior to the game. Tickets for Youth Baseball and Softball Day start at $11 in a variety of sections throughout the ballpark. For more information, visit nationals.com/youthbaseball or call 202.675.NATS(6287).

  • Youth Baseball Equipment Drive: The Nationals have teamed up with the Baseball Tomorrow Fund to collect new and gently-used baseball and softball equipment, such as gloves, balls, bats and helmets. Fans can drop off equipment outside Center Field Gates from the time gates open at 11:00 a.m. until the end of the fourth inning. Equipment collected during the drive will be donated to the Banneker City Little League, which will also receive a $5,000 grant from the Baseball Tomorrow Fund to purchase new equipment.

  • Honorary Bat Girl: In partnership with Major League Baseball and Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the Nationals will recognize Cathy Colleli, the team’s winner of this year’s Honorary Bat Girl contest on the field prior to the game. Cathy is one of thirty winners, each representing a different MLB club, and was among more than 1,500 entrants selected by baseball fans online as well as a panel of celebrity judges.
