Nationals fans donate nearly 7,000 pounds of food to team's Harris Teeter Food Drive

The Washington Nationals would like to thank all of those who helped make the 2011 Harris Teeter Food Drive a tremendous success! Nationals fans came out in droves for last weekend's event, collectively donating 6,942 pounds of food to make it the most successful food drive to date at Nationals Park.

The food drive will help the Capital Area Food Bank nourish thousands of children who are struggling to get enough food to eat and do not have access to school meals during the summer months. The event's success was due in large part to Harris Teeter and the company's commitment to ensuring those who are less fortunate do not go hungry.
