After a successful official visit, the Huskies have earned a commitment from Las Vegas Safety, Gavin Day. Day was already quite popular in recruiting circles, but his ranking recently caught up with the hype after jumping 580 spots in 247’s rankings and checking in at #226 overall in the nation. Out west he is rated as the fourth highest safety prospect, but he is arguably the best pure safety prospect among that group.
The Huskies were very late to the party in offering and recruiting Day. He had already lined up official visits to Minnesota, Arizona, Iowa, Arizona State, and Utah respectively, so it appeared there was a large hill to climb to get in the conversation with Day.
