Volleyball flashes Final Four potential in sweep of unbeaten Utes

SEATTLE — The Huskies passed their biggest test of the year so far with flying colors.

#9 Washington volleyball (10-2 Pac-12) handed the first two losses of the season to #7 Utah (8-2) on Thursday and Saturday to earn sole possession of first place in the conference, albeit in rather different ways. UW swept Utah 25-21, 25-23, 25-19 by hitting an excellent .333 in the first meeting, then relied on a season-high 17 blocks to win round two 25-21, 25-17, 23-25, 25-18, holding Utah to a season-worst .150 hitting.
