UW’s Jonathan Smith responds to criticism: ‘It’s got to get better’

It’s tough being an offensive coordinator in Seattle.

They’re an easy target for disgruntled Husky and Seahawks fans who expect more when their teams have the football.

Washington’s OC Jonathan Smith answered a few tough questions about a lackluster offense that ranks last in the Pac-12 in total offense (334.1 yards per game), last in first downs (16.4 per game), 11th in scoring (24.0), 11th in rushing (122.3), 11th in third-down conversions (33.3 percent) and 10th in passing (211.9).

“It comes down to the execution,” Smith said. “We got to get better. I’m not going to stand here and say it’s been outstanding because it hasn’t been executed very well.
