COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Kelsey Plum scored 24 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter, and the Washington Huskies ended their decade-long NCAA tournament victory drought with a 65-53 win over Penn Saturday afternoon.

Talia Walton had 18 points and Alexus Atchley had 11 for the seventh-seeded Huskies (23-10), who scored their first tournament victory since 2006.

With the victory over the No. 10 seed Quakers (24-5), Washington moves on to face the second-seeded Maryland Terrapins in their own Xfinity Center. Maryland defeated No. 15 seed Iona 74-58 in the earlier first-round game Saturday, and is bidding for its third consecutive Final Four appearance.
