The Washington men’s soccer team took home the gold medal with a 1-0 victory over Brazil on Saturday while representing the United States in the FISU (International University Sports Federation) America Games in São Paulo, Brazil.
Kyle Coffee scored the Huskies’ lone goal in the gold-medal game, heading home a cross in the 10th minute. From there the Washington defense took over with Saif Kerawala making a number of challenging saves to earn the clean sheet.
