BOULDER, Colo. — It didn’t happen in Dante Pettis’ hands, but Washington’s punt team came through with another big play Saturday night.

Vita Vea, the Huskies’ 340-pound defensive tackle, bulldozed through Colorado’s punt-protection shield and got his right hand out to block a punt from Colorado’s Alex Kinney.

UW’s Levi Onwuzurike recovered the ball at the Buffaloes’ 12-yard line. Four plays later, Myles Gaskin scored from 1-yard out to tie the score at 7-7 with 9:04 left in the second quarter.

Pettis came into the game needing one more punt-return touchdown to break the all-time NCAA record.
