Utah hands UW volleyball team 2nd consecutive loss

The Washington volleyball team lost its second straight match, falling 3-2 to Utah on Friday night at Alaska Airlines Arena.

Utah (13-3, 4-1 Pac-12) won the first two sets before the Huskies (13-3, 3-2) rallied to win the next two. The final score was 27-25, 26-24, 21-25, 23-25, 16-14.

Tia Scambray led the Huskies with 19 kills, Lauren Sanders had 17 kills and 10 blocks, and Carly DeHoog finished with 15 kills and five blocks.

Hockey

Dorrin Luding made 29 saves as the Everett Silvertips blanked the host Calgary Hitmen 1-0 in Western Hockey League action.
