Tour de France leader Chris Froome calls rival cyclist “unsportsmanlike”

Tour de France leader Chris Froome angrily tore into Vincenzo Nibali, calling the Italian “unsportsmanlike,” after Nibali accelerated away while Froome was fixing a stuck wheel. Nibali went on to win Stage 19.

LA TOUSSUIRE, France – Chris Froome always expected his rivals to throw everything at him and his Tour de France race lead. The Team Sky cyclist just didn’t expect it would happen when he was stopped by the side of the road.

The Briton angrily tore into Vincenzo Nibali, calling the Italian “unsportsmanlike,” after the defending champion who competes for the Astana team accelerated away while Froome was fixing a stuck wheel on the toughest Alpine climb Friday.
