Demond Williams Jr. could not have picked a more poorly timed farewell announcement for his transfer portal departure. He already was sticking a knife in the back of the Washington Huskies by signing a deal four days ago and then turning around and shopping it, and then eventually leaving. But when he did it, he made it so he burned the final bridge, and now he's an enemy.
Washington was hosting a memorial service for women's soccer player Mia Hamant, who died after a battle with kidney cancer. Family, friends, other sports programs, including many of Washington's football players, were in attendance, and not only did Williams decide to skip it, but he also posted his farewell in the middle of it.
