Steelers Draft LB Carson Bruener

With the 226th pick of the 2025 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers selected Husky linebacker Carson Bruener! This move unites Bruener with his dad, Mark, who played for Pittsburgh from 1995-2003, and now serves as a scout for the team.

Over his 4 years for the Dawgs, Bruener made quite an impact, recording 305 total tackles (including 104 last year), 5 interceptions (including a team leading 3 in 2024) and 9 pass deflections. At the pro level, with T.J. Watt, Patrick Queen, Payton Wilson, Cole Holcomb and Mark Robinson at Pittsburgh’s linebacker spots, Carson will look to immediately contribute on special teams and he has shown a willingness and proclivity to do so, given his time at UW producing hits like this:

For Steeler fans, you’re getting a guy with high energy who will look to attack on every play, and a solid tackler who has all the athletic ability you’d expect out of a pro linebacker!
