FISHING REPORT

Cowlitz River – 15 bank anglers at the barrier dam kept 3 adult spring Chinook and 3 summer run steelhead. 14 boat anglers sampled at the trout hatchery kept 12 summer run steelhead. Fishing for steelhead was also reported very good in the Castle Rock area.

During five days of operations at the Cowlitz Salmon Hatchery separator, last week Tacoma Power recovered:

328 spring Chinook salmon, 57 jacks, 72 mini-jacks, 730 summer steelhead.

During the past week Tacoma Power employees released:

282 spring Chinook adults and 49 jacks into the Cispus River near the mouth of Yellow Jacket Creek.
