The deadline for Russell Wilson and the Seahawks to reach an agreement on a contract extension before training camp begins is edging ever closer. Training camp begins at 10 a.m. Friday, and if no deal is reached at that time, then it appears talks will be tabled until after the season.
The two sides were expected to talk this week with the deadline approaching. But so far, there have been no indications that there has been any real movement. That doesn’t mean there couldn’t be between now and Friday morning — urgency often compels action.
As reported earlier today (Wednesday), the Seahawks suddenly appear to have a lot on their plate, having hoped to get done deals for Wilson and middle linebacker Bobby Wagner, as well as dealing with potential holdouts by Kam Chancellor and Michael Bennett.
