Falcons: Playing for the first time since week 5 because of a toe injury, Desmond Trufant was excellent in Atlanta’s surprising blowout win at Carolina with his third interception of the year (below), a pass deflection and seven tackles, including first TFL of 2019. OT Kaleb McGary continues to a full-time starter for Atlanta at right tackle. After a career-high 9% of defensive snaps last week, CB Jordan Miller played 4% but had no stats.
Panthers: OLB Shaq Thompson had five tackles in Carolina’s loss to Atlanta including a TFL and added a pass deflection, but that deflection not only should have been an interception, but likely would have been returned for a touchdown if he holds on.
