The Pac-12 will not review the targeting penalty that led to the ejection on Washington linebacker Azeem Victor in the fourth quarter of the Huskies’ 17-12 upset of USC on Thursday night.
Victor was ejected from the game for a hit on USC quarterback Cody Kessler. After a brief video review — standard protocol for officials on all targeting calls — the penalty stood.
“Only the replay booth as the ability to overturn on-field targeting calls,” a Pac-12 spokesman said Friday.
Because the penalty happened in the second half, Victor will also have to sit out of the first half of UW’s game against rival Oregon next week.
