New Washington Huskies head coach Mike Hopkins rounded out his coaching staff Tuesday with the appointment of Dave Rice as an assistant coach. Rice will join Will Conroy and Cameron Dollar as assistants on the bench next to Hopkins.
Rice, 48, served as an assistant coach at Nevada last season under Eric Musselman, helping lead the Wolf Pack to the Mountain West regular season and conference tournament championships and the program's first NCAA tournament appearance since 2007. Before that, the former Rhodes Scholar candidate was the head coach at UNLV, his alma mater, compiling a 98-54 record from 2011 to 2016.
