The Huskies wrapped up their exhibition tour of Australia and New Zealand with a 96-86 loss on Wednesday to the Sydney Kings at Qudos Bank Arena.
Markelle Fultz rebounded from a relatively sub-par outing in the previous game and led the Washington men’s basketball team with 20 points, eight rebounds, five blocks and four assists in 35 minutes.
The 6-foot-4 freshman point guard, who is tabbed as an early pick in next year’s NBA draft, immediately established himself as the focal point in UW’s offense. He averaged 21.4 points during the five-game tour.
“On this trip, we saw tremendous progress in terms of our growing chemistry and we started to see more of an identity of how hard we need to play,” coach Lorenzo Romar said in a statement released by the team.
