Husky secondary steps up vs. talented Colorado WRs

BOULDER, Colo. — It was already going to be a challenge for Washington’s rebuilt secondary, going up against a Colorado offense that features three of the most productive wide receivers in the Pac-12.

The task got even more challenging when redshirt freshman cornerback Byron Murphy was lost during a practice earlier in the week with a fractured foot.

Considering that, the Huskies could not have asked for much more from their secondary in Saturday’s 37-10 win in their Pac-12 opener.

“It felt really good,” said junior Jordan Miller, a first-year starting cornerback. “Losing a guy like (Murphy) — one of our better playmakers, one of our best cover guys — we wanted to make plays for him.
