Former Washington coach Steve Sarkisian has been named the new offensive coordinator at Alabama.
Sarkisian replaces Lane Kiffin, who was named the new head coach at Florida Atlantic last week. Kiffin is expected to remain with Alabama for its Dec. 31 national semifinal game against the Huskies in Atlanta.
“He has a tremendous offensive mind and is someone we believe will do a great job of teaching and developing our football team on the offensive side of the ball,” Alabama coach Nick Saban said. “He has been a great asset to our coaching staff this season and brings a great deal of energy and enthusiasm to his job.
