Center founded by Donnie Chin ‘still very angry,’ needs time to grieve

The board of the International District Emergency Center, founded by Donnie Chin, who was shot dead in July, said it needs time to decide what to do about the organization’s future.

“We deeply thank the community and the public for the outpouring of love and support for Donnie Chin and IDEC,” Richard Mar, board chairman of the IDEC, said in a statement. “As the board for the agency that Donnie founded and nurtured, we are still devastated by his loss, and frankly still very angry about the circumstances of his death. We need time to grieve before we can move forward as an organization.
