Arizona State sends last-place Huskies to fifth consecutive defeat

In an attempt to jolt the Huskies out of their midseason malaise, coach Mike Hopkins changed the lineup and received a boost from Marcus Tsohonis, who made his first start.

The freshman point guard scored a career-high 19 points, but it wasn’t enough to prevent Washington’s fifth straight loss, an 87-83 defeat against Arizona State on Saturday night at Alaska Airlines Arena.

The Huskies (12-11, 2-8) have lost nine of the past 11 games and remain in last place in the Pac-12 standings with eight games remaining.

Isaiah Stewart finished with 14 points, Nahziah Carter had 12, Hameir Wright tallied 11 and RaeQuan Battle 10 for Washington.
