OKLAHOMA CITY -- The top eight teams, scores of superstars, a national championship on the line, all on the sport's most sacred stage.

The 2018 Women's College World Series begins Thursday with all eight teams in action at USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium. The stakes are high from the start. In the history of the event, only two teams (Texas A&M in 1983 and UCLA in 2003) have come back to win the title after suffering a loss on the first day.
