The first official announcement is here after a week of rumors and conflicting reports about the Washington Football Team’s updated front office. The organization has their first official General Manager since Scott McCloughan was fired in 2017, and his name is Martin Mayhew.
Former Carolina Panthers GM Marty Hurney was originally reported as the selection, but nothing was announced, and reports came out about Mayhew joining the front office too, and possibly getting the job instead. Hurney is still expected to join the front office in some kind of senior executive role.
The rumors about current Vice President of Player Personnel Kyle Smith's future with the team continue to getting more negative.
