Washington brings in competition/insurance for Dustin Hopkins by signing K Eddie Pineiro to the practice squad

Dustin Hopkins has had more headlines about him than any kicker should during the preseason this year. He missed 3 kicks over 3 games and fans are once again calling for his head.

Washington drafted new long snapper Camaron Cheeseman and the specialists are still working on their timing. Ron Rivera has publicly backed Hopkins, saying he got hot last year after struggling, and talking about the timing/familiarity issues.

Last year Washington had two different kickers(Brett Maher, Kaare Vedvik on their practice squad throughout the season, and Rivera did talk about bringing in competition at Kicker. Hopkins bounced back and returned on a 1-year deal for $2.
