Ryan Kerrigan day to day after hyperextending left elbow

ASHBURN — Ryan Kerrigan hyperextended his left elbow and was limited to just eight snaps against the Cleveland Browns, but the Washington Redskins’ outside linebacker avoided any significant damage and will be day to day, coach Jay Gruden said on Monday.

Kerrigan was injured on the first play in the second quarter and tried to return for the remainder of the Redskins’ 31-20 win against the Browns, but was in too much pain. Trent Murphy filled in and recorded a sack, his fourth in the last three games.

Strong safety David Bruton and rookie inside linebacker Su’a Cravens remain in the concussion protocol after sustaining concussions against the Browns.
