RICHMOND — Cornerback Tevin Mitchel suffered a torn labrum in his left shoulder and is expected to miss the entire season after having surgery to repair it, coach Jay Gruden said.
Meanwhile, running back Matt Jones, a fellow rookie, has a sore right knee and will be held out of Monday afternoon’s practice.
A sixth-round pick out of Arkansas, Mitchel injured his shoulder on Saturday, and didn’t practice on Sunday while having the shoulder evaluated. Gruden revealed the extent of the injury on Monday afternoon.
During the offseason leading up to his senior season, Mitchel had surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder.
