I didn’t know much about Martrell Spaight before the Washington Redskins General Manager, Scot McCloughan, took the inside linebacker in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. Looking into him more, I see a very instinctive linebacker who led the SEC in tackles in 2014. 2014 was Spaight’s only season as a starter at Arkansas.
Spaight ran a very slow 4.88 time in the 40 yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine in February. Wathcing film of him versus LSU, I see him outrun everybody to tackle the quarterback inside the five when he had the ball snapped over his head.
