Eric Schaffer is the Redskins Senior Vice President of Football Operations and the team’s general counsel. He is the guy who is primarily responsible for player contracts and cap management, and is generally well respected around the league. He has been with the Redskins franchise for 17 years.
A short time ago, Rick Walker, a former player and now member of the media with close ties to the Redskins tweeted that Schaffer has been fired.
