ASHBURN, Va. -- Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins joked in an ESPN The Magazine article that he’d throw 20 picks if he played the way coach Jay Gruden wanted at times.
To which Gruden replied Thursday, “Yeah, but he’d throw 60 touchdowns.”
Both numbers are, of course, exaggerated and the Redskins’ coach is quick to praise how Cousins has played this season. But the comments do suggest an area the Redskins can improve: Attacking downfield and getting the outside targets more involved.
And that leads to this week’s mailbag:
Does Kirk trust his wide receivers?
