Now, the Washington Redskins are helmed at quarterback by Alex Smith, a quarterback equally embattled as he is exciting. The defense is restocked with a mixture of returning players and offseason acquisitions. And depth, one thing that was a dire concern last year, is much-improved.

The burgundy and gold have only played three football games since their last matchup against the Denver Broncos. But already, so much has changed.
