Redskins trying to trade Zach Brown, eyeing C.J. Mosley

The Washington Redskins are trying to trade linebackers Zach Brown and Mason Foster and are “strong players” for linebacker C.J. Mosley, the NFL Network reported Monday.

Brown and Foster are both candidates to be released, but this report could explain why the team has yet to do so. After the Case Keenum trade, Washington has only $13 million in cap space, so they’ll need to free up room in order to compete in free agency.

Mosley, meanwhile, is seen as the top linebacker in this year’s market. The 2014 first-rounder has spent five seasons with the Baltimore Ravens and some insiders have predicted his salary could reach north of $13 million.
