Derek Carrier has had an impressive preseason, and, more importantly, a healthy one as well. His play has garnered the attention of Washington’s coaching staff, and apparently that of other teams as well. Per ESPN’s John Keim, the Redskins are interested in receiving compensation for the fourth-year tight end.
It makes sense that the Redskins would be uncomfortable with letting Carrier go with nothing to show for it. Carrier has often been overshadowed by the other tight ends on the roster, but he too possesses immense talent and potential. Many teams in the league have a dearth of said talent, and thus, the interest in Carrier is not surprising.
