Jamison Crowder’s miraculous circus catch in Jacksonville last week, which kept the Washington Redskins only touchdown drive alive, may be the perfect analogy for the Redskins’ playoff chances. If they can pull off two wins and make it to the playoffs, it will certainly feel a lot like that miracle. And yet, just as it happened in that play, there is a chance.
It is reasonable for Redskins fans to wonder about whether winning is what’s best for the franchise in these last couple of games of the season. Would the long-term health of the franchise be improved by a full house-cleaning that likely won’t happen if the team doesn’t miss the playoffs?
