Redskins intentions unclear heading into Day One of the NFL Draft

In other words, no one has any idea what’s going on.

The Washington Redskins submitted to a sobering change of pace in recent years, opting to push aside their draft-day publicity stunts for a more workmanlike approach. In 2017, they waited patiently at pick No. 17 as stalwart defensive lineman Jonathan Allen fell to them, and in 2018, they added to their young core with Daron Payne.

Now, however, circumstances appear to be forcing the Redskins hand. With no quarterback in tow, and an ingrained motivation to win now, the Redskins need to make some kind of splash in the 2019 NFL Draft.
