Redskins at Eagles game day: Washington running back Matt Jones inactive; Chris Thompson will suit up

Rookie running back Matt Jones, who has been ailing with a hip injury much of the week, heads the list of inactives for Saturday’s pivotal NFC East matchup at Philadelphia.

With a victory, the Redskins (7-7) would clinch the division title and, with it, the NFL playoff berth that accompanies it.

Jones’s carries will likely be shouldered by veteran Pierre Thomas, who was added to the roster earlier this month. Third-down back Chris Thompson, who has missed the past two games with a shoulder injury, will also be active and in the mix for the ground game.
