ASHBURN, Va. -- Washington Redskins rookie Su’a Cravens could make his debut at safety earlier than anticipated. But that’s only if he’s healthy.
The Redskins have discussed Cravens’ move to safety for a while and finally had him work with the secondary last week. The only problem is that he is recovering from an elbow injury and was unable to do any on-field work.
It’s not as if the role foreign to him -- some of his duties when healthy had been as a de facto strong safety in certain situations. Cravens mostly had been a linebacker in the Redskins' packages with six defensive backs.
