Kevin Hogan entered the offseason with the odds against him in Washington. Shortly after starting training camp, the Washington Redskins signed Colt McCoy to an extension, all but extinguishing thoughts that Hogan might beat out McCoy for the backup job.
Still, Hogan had a chance to earn a spot for himself as the team’s third quarterback, but it became apparent that Washington had positions in need of depth elsewhere, and Hogan was growing increasingly expendable.
Nevertheless, Hogan had a solid preseason with the Redskins.
