Things looked incredibly promising for Chris Rodriguez Jr. just a few short weeks ago. A bigger role with the Washington Commanders was expected in 2025 after the team traded Brian Robinson Jr. to the San Francisco 49ers for a sixth-round pick. That might arrive at some stage, but it's a waiting game until further notice.
The Commanders felt comfortable enough in their running back rotation to remove Robinson from the equation before final cuts. He was their starter last season, so it was a big call to make, but Washington's efforts on the ground in Week 1 against a stout New York Giants defensive front quickly vindicated general manager Adam Peters' decision.
