The Washington Commanders are looking to get one more year of outstanding production from veteran tight end Zach Ertz. However, this is not a long-term fix by any stretch of the imagination.
Ertz, like many other influential figures in Washington, is firmly in the final stages of his Pro Bowl playing days. The former Stanford standout managed to galvanize his career with the Commanders when all hope seemed lost. Even so, general manager Adam Peters could easily find a long-term replacement next spring.
Much of this will depend on Ben Sinnott's development. The second-year pro is taking time to adjust.
