Commanders' initial 53-man roster for 2025 hints at much bigger moves coming

It was a frantic few hours for Washington Commanders general manager Adam Peters in his difficult quest to trim the roster from 90 to 53. And the initial squad hints that bigger moves might be coming in the not-too-distant future.

The Commanders got a good look at everybody during the offseason. Some rose to the occasion when all hope seemed lost. Others who were expected to make the team wilted under the pressure. There were also some notable surprises thrown in for good measure.

Washington opted for only five wide receivers, five cornerbacks, and four tight ends.
